Christian Aid is an international aid agency that works where the need is greatest irrespective of religious affiliation. Christian Aid provides bi-lingual educational resources for schools. The Wales team has an educational co-ordinator that supports educational establishments and advises on matters concerning ESDGC.

CAT is Europe’s leading Eco site. On a seven-acre site we have interactive displays on wind, water and solar power, energy conservation, recycling, organic growing, building design, transport and much more. For 2006 we have had a major re-vamp of three key display areas - Energy, Waste and The Home -with lots of new interactive and bilingual written and audio displays.

Dwr Cymru’s ‘Living and Learning with Water’ programme is an excellent way for primary school children to learn about water and the vital role it plays in our everyday lives. Developed by educational experts and linked to the National Curriculum, it gives children the chance to discover nature through fun and practical experiences. A trip to one of the Education Centres makes a perfect day out for young learners free of charge. Located in the Elan Valley, Cilfynydd, Cog Moors and Alwen, the centres run a range of programmes, linked to the National Curriculum for KS1 and 2 and run by specialist teaching staff.

| Forestry Commission Woodlands for Learning Team – We can provide Woodland Visits to include a wide range of subject areas to all Key Stages, Foundation Phase, A, AS, Degree level. The team also takes the lead in Forest School that is an exciting approach to using woodlands for learning that involves regular repeated visits to local woodland with the same training teacher. Can be used for any age/ability but is particularly useful for Foundation Phase and alternative curricula. The Education Team are also part of the Forest Education Initiative (FEI) which is a GB partnership that:
- Helps to deliver and promote woodland education through a network of local groups (FEI Cluster Groups) Included in these groups can be teachers, rangers, woodland owners, local authorities etc.
- FEI Co-ordinators can also help access grants, training and advice on project development. |

Link Community Development runs the Global Teachers Programme which is possibly the most exciting, challenging and rewarding professional development opportunity available for teachers and headteachers . Selected Global teachers spend five weeks sharing skills with peers in schools in South Africa or Uganda. We also run the Link Schools Programme, which enables schools in the UK to link with a school in South Africa, Uganda or Ghana.

Primrose Earth Awareness Trust is working to raise awareness of how we can all live more sustainably. Our main focus is on methods of food production – showing how we can grow healthy foods in ways that also preserve the health of our environment and the people involved in the work. We also offer opportunities to explore a range of plants that are useful for medicines, dyes, fibres and more to engage with the natural world using all your senses.
Services for schools :
- Themed focus days of activity related to growing healthy food, living sustainable, exploring plants using all your senses, learning from our ancestors and other cultures (including the Celts)
- We concentrate on experiential learning with lively activities including role-play and imaginative activities rather than paper-based work.

From our workshop in Crickhowell, TFSR collect unwanted hand tools, refurbish them & send them to community groups of artisans in several countries of Africa. We recycle an increasing number of tools for local use by community groups & individuals – tools for gardening, horticulture, coppice work, green woodwork, and for other crafts. At present our work is carried out by about 40 volunteers in 2 evening & 3-day time sessions supervised by 2 part-time workers.
Services for schools :
- Local schools can visit our workshop - in- groups of up to 10 - to see recycling in action, and see our practical work of helping artisans groups in Africa.
- They can see our photographic displays of African artisans working in a variety of trades, and being trained at vocational colleges.
- Schools are encouraged to collect hand tools for us.
- Schools are encouraged to get involved in fund- raising for our small projects in Tanzania.

Unicef UK’s Education Department works to promote awareness among children and adults of children’s rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Welsh Assembly Government - ESDGC Advisory Panel
The purpose of the panel is to promote ESDGC in schools and adult education. Involved in this panel are WAG, ACCAC, Estyn, DFID, Welsh Local Gov Assoc, Countryside Council for Wales, British Council, Non Government Organisations, and Eco Schools. Representatives from: further and higher education and the youth work sector.
